Many Cedar Rapids accidents have occurred recently, sending victims to the hospital with injuries.
On August 2, 2011, a rollover crash in northeast Cedar Rapids occurred involving a pickup truck. Witnesses said that the pickup flipped three times after it collided with another vehicle. This Tuesday morning accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Rockwell Drive near Park Place NE.
Iowa police stated that it appears that the vehicle traveling on Park Place NE did not see the southbound pickup and pulled out in front of it.
Authorities indicated that the driver of the pickup was in pain and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital to get checked out. The other driver did not appear to be injured. The drivers' names were not released.
Another Cedar Rapids crash occurred on August 5, 2011 around 10:30 p.m. downtown. This Friday night accident sent one woman to the hospital with injuries.
Police indicated that the collision occurred at the intersection of 1st Avenue and 6th Street SE, when a white Dodge Stratus T-boned a white Cadillac Escalade. The crash smashed the front of the Stratus and caused one woman to be taken away on a stretcher.
At this time, there is no further word on the medical condition of this injured woman.
