Cedar Rapids Motorcycle Crash Sends Rider to Hospital with Head Injuries

Posted on Nov 20, 2011

On October 22, 2011, a Cedar Rapids motorcycle crash occurred, injuring the motorcyclist and totaling the bike. Officials said the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in this wreck and was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for medical care.

According to Cedar Rapids police Sgt. Cristy Hamblin, Curtis Tichy, 26, of Cedar Rapids, was stopped behind a pickup truck and revving his engine when he lost control of his Suzuki motorcycle, crashing it into the pickup.

Eric Kriegermeier, 22, the driver of the Chevy pickup truck, was waiting to pull out of the Guppy's gas station on Edgewood Road when this incident happened. According to witnesses, the pickup truck sustained damage to the rear quarter panel, and the motorcycle was totaled after the wreck.

The 26-year-old motorcycle driver suffered from possible head injuries and was transported by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt in this Eastern Iowa crash.
Police said that no charges have been filed because the crash occurred on private property.

The Law Offices of Brady & O'Shea would like to wish the motorcyclist a full recovery.
