Cedar Rapids Woman Sent to Hospital After Rear-End Accident Near Swisher

Posted on Aug 13, 2011

On July 21, 2011, a car crash in Eastern Iowa occurred involving a car and a sports utility vehicle (SUV). This Thursday afternoon accident caused injuries and sent one to the hospital.

Iowa State Patrol responded to this crash on Interstate 380, near Swisher. Their accident report indicated that 37-year-old Heather Zobel was driving her car southbound on I-380 and struck an SUV from behind.
The other driver, Suzanne Aunan, 57, of Iowa City, was traveling south on Interstate 380 as well, and reduced her speed for the slowed traffic in front of her. However, Zobel, of Cedar Rapids, was not able to stop in time and hit the SUV. This rear-end Iowa accident occurred near mile marker 12 at about 12:20 p.m.
Zobel, the driver of passenger car, was the one injured in this crash. She was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for medical treatment. At this time, her medical condition is not known. There was no word if Aunan sustained any injuries in this rear-end accident.

The Iowa State Patrol, along with several other state agencies, responded to this accident and helped work on the crash investigation and cleanup.

The Law Offices of Brady & O'Shea would like to extend our best wishes for a full recovery to both women who were involved in this crash.
