Increase in Cedar Rapids Motorcycle Accidents

Posted on Jun 21, 2011

On May 30, 2011, a Cedar Rapids motorcycle accident occurred early Monday morning. Iowa officials stated that the motorcycle crash injured a Cedar Rapids man and sent him to an area hospital.

Jason C. Hines, the 22-year-old motorcycle driver involved in this crash, lost control of his bike while he was traveling westbound on Old River Road, near Anderle Road. The Linn County sheriff's office indicated that the motorcycle crash occurred around midnight.

Officials said that Hines and his motorcycle tumbled before coming to a rest. He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for his injuries. His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Another Cedar Rapids motorcycle crash occurred one week later on Sunday, June 5, 2011, sending another man to the same hospital.

Officials indicated that 33-year-old Jason Henderson was traveling in the 2700 block of Indian Hill Road SE when he crashed. Henderson apparently lost control of his bike at a bend in the road and was sent into a ditch.

He was injured and was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Investigations into both Cedar Rapids motorcycle wrecks are still continuing.

The Law Office of Brady & O'Shea would like to wish both motorcycle riders involved in these separate Iowa motorcycle crashes a full and speedy recovery.
