Iowa Producer Expands Egg Recall

Wright County Egg of Galt, Iowa previously recalled 228 million eggs due to salmonella poisonings across the country linked to its contaminated eggs. The company has now increased the recall to include 380 million eggs.
Some potentially contaminated eggs were sold at Eastern Iowa Fareway stores under the brand name Boomsma's. Other brand names included in the recall are Albertson, Dutch Farms, Farm Fresh, Hillandale, Kemps, Lucerne, Lund, Mountain Dairy, Ralph's, Shoreland, Sunshine, and Trafficanda. The eggs were distributed between May 16 and August 13, 2010. They include cartons marked with plant numbers 1026, 1413, and 1946 and Julian dates ranging from 136 to 225.
Health officials advise that consumers who purchased recalled eggs return or discard the eggs.
