Motorcyclist Leaves Injured Woman at Cedar Rapids Accident Scene

Posted on Jul 24, 2011

On June 30, 2011, police issued a warrant for the arrest of a motorcycle driver due to an accident in which he injured a woman and fled the scene.

The Cedar Rapids motorcycle crash occurred near 3412 Towne House Drive NE on Thursday afternoon around 3:40 p.m. Police said the accident happened near the Twin Pines Golf Course and was a single-motorcycle accident.

There were no details on how the crash occurred, but both the motorcyclist and his female passenger were thrown from the bike and injured in this wreck.

When emergency officials arrived on scene, they took the female passenger to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Her name has not been released at this time, nor has her updated medical condition.

Catrin Terrell Rhodes, the 30-year-old motorcyclist involved in this crash, fled the scene, and police went looking for him. By 5 p.m. police were outside his house at 4518 Pine Drive NE waiting for him to come home.

Police believe that Rhodes was injured in the crash as well, and have issued a warrant for his arrest for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, driving while barred, no insurance, and failure to maintain control.

Police are still investigating this Iowa motorcycle accident at this time.

The Law Offices of Brady & O'Shea would like to wish a full and speedy recovery to those involved in this motorcycle crash.
