Two Iowa Women Injured in Cedar Rapids Crash

Posted on Nov 01, 2010

On Monday, October 18, 2010, a car accident occurred near Cedar Rapids that injured two people. Iowa police indicated this early morning car crash happened near the intersection of F Avenue and Rogers Road at approximately 7:15 a.m.

One vehicle was headed northbound on F Avenue driven by 48-year-old Penny Whiting, of Cedar Rapids, when she crashed into another car driven by Judith Wickman, 67, of Robins. Wickman was driving westbound on Rogers Road when she turned out in front of Whiting's car.

Police found both women injured in this Cedar Rapids crash; however, because they both were found wearing their seat belts, their injuries were minor. Firefighters had to pull Wickman from her vehicle and both women were transported to St. Luke's Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Authorities were still investigating the collision, but the report does indicate that Wickman pulled out into the path of Whiting's vehicle.

Both women involved in this crash were released from the hospital the same day.

We hope that both women continue to make a full and quick recovery following this Iowa car crash.
